3. P.N. Elrod - Lifeblood
In this second book of the "Vampire Files," Jack Fleming is starting to get used to being a vampire and lead a relatively normal life with his friend and private agent, Charles Escott and a beautiful woman at his side, Bobbi Smythe. He has gotten so comfortable that he stops his personal ad in search of his long lost vampire lover Maureen. What Jack doesn't realize is that a lot more people had been following that ad than he realized. All of a sudden, two determined, yet incompetent, vampire hunters start chasing after him trying to kill him. Then, Maureen's sister, who he never knew she had, contacts him out of the blue. Could she be the link to finding Maureen? As it turns out, the sister is hiding something sinister of her own.
This book was much better than the first book. Here Jack is starting to understand and control his vampire powers better and his enemies are much more colorful than the cut-and-paste mobsters in the first one. You have to read the first one anways to understand what is going on here but it's worth it. This book was great.
