55. P.C. Cast - Goddess by the Sea

Air Force Sergeant Christine Canady (CC to her friends) is having a miserable 25th birthday. Her parents forgot about it and so did her best friend. So, she sat at home with a bucket of KFC and a few bottles of champagne to wallow in her misery. However, after all that drinking, she got the crazy idea to perform a goddess-summoning ritual to bring "magic" into her life. Little did she know how much this ritual would affect her. The next day, after her airforce plane crashes into the sea, she finds herself exchanging bodies with a mermaid Undine and enters into a new and mystical world. It's full of intrigue, romance, chivalry, and danger.

The book was pretty good. It was recommended to me by someone on the Jim Butcher list, but they had recommended her first book (Goddess by Mistake) which I heard was much better. I can't wait to get my hands on that one.
