4. Brain Haig - Secret Sanction
"Brian Haig, son of former secretary of state Alexander Haig, takes aim at the bestseller lists with Secret Sanction, a military/legal thriller set against the backdrop of the Bosnian conflict. Hotshot army lawyer Sean Drummond is assigned to investigate the massacre of 35 Serbian soldiers, apparently by a team of Green Berets. He encounters resistance from the brass right away and the deeper he digs, the worse it gets. Sexual tension with army defense attorney Lisa Morrow and the execution-style death of a reporter who's covering the case add to the high-stakes excitement." - Publishers Weekly
Even though I am on a werewolf/vampire kick doesn't mean I'm going to ignore a good thriller. Someone recommended Haig to me a while back so I decided to start with his first book. While this does seem to read almost like a sequel to "A Few Good Men," I enjoyed this book. It was one of the types that was hard to put down and kept me on the edge of my seat, a nice combination. I'm looking forward to reading more of his books.
