27. Diana Wynne Jones - The Chronicles of Chrestomanci, Volume 2 - I liked the first volume so much that I had to get the second volume. However, the stories weren't nearly what I'd hoped they be. Jones barely focuses on the Chrestomanci in either of the two stories in this volume and I guess I just assumed they would have. Even still, the two stories are interesting. The first, The Magicians of Caprona, is about the two warring magical families in the Duchy of Caprona in Italy. The second, Witch Week, is the story of a school of witch-orphans im a world where witches are still burned at the stake (she ties it into the Gunpowder Plot rather ingeniously). It's a decent book but not as good as the first one.

28. Laurell K. Hamilton - Blue Moon - I love this author's books. Once again, I found another of her Anita Blake "vampire killer" books to be outstanding. In this one, one of the triumverate and Anita's former love, Richard the werewolf, is arrested in Tennessee on charges of rape. Of course, Anita runs to his recue but ends up getting in a lot more trouble that she could have imagined. What's nice in this book is that there is very little of Jean-Claude, her vampire lover, which is a nice change. Also, Hamilton focuses more on eroticism than sex, which was another nice difference. Once again, I recommend this author to anybody who likes vampire books.
